Strategic Partnership for a Secure and Digital Europe
In a new book by the Centre of European Perspective (CEP), scholars and policymakers in Europe chart a new course for strategic transatlantic cooperation on digital policy. For the two partners to succeed in an increasingly competitive environment in digital geopolitics and the digital economy, deeper cooperation is needed - and cooperation needs to go substantially beyond the Transatlantic Trade and Technology Council. In a world shorn of leadership, argues Fredrik Erixon in a chapter, the EU and the US should take new policy initiatives to open markets among democratic market economies and work out common rules for new digital policies.

Are Services Sick? How Going Digital Can Cure Services Performance
Services make up the lion share of modern developed economies. But their productivity developments have often been lagging. In this study, we investigate first whether increased digitalisation can actually improve productivity developments in the services sector and conclude that indeed it has strong effects. In a second step, we look into the factors driving digitalisation in the services sector. As a rule, the more competitive a sector is, the more likely it is to adopt digital technologies to improve its productivity.
