Did Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 reflect the rise of a new and resurgent Russia that has successfully challenged Western liberalism and the post-1989 world order? In his new book Russia and the New World Disorder, Bobo Lo – a renowned scholar of geopolitics – argues that, while true, there is not much that has changed over time in Russia’s skewed vision of itself and its role in the world.
