A lunch discussion on the future of the WTO and a global trade system.
The relevance and integrity of the global trading system are challenged. Last year, both the EU and Canada put forward proposals for reforming the World Trade Organisation, with the ambition of breaking the deadlock in appointments to the WTO Appellate Body and bringing new direction to trade negotiations. Together with other like-minded WTO members, Canada wants to have a constructive dialogue that can help address weaknesses in the rules and institutions of global trade policy.
